Wellbeing Dashboard Amsterdam
Measure what matters
The Amsterdam Wellbeing Dashboard is a project in which local residents and researchers from the University of Amsterdam work together.

Several neighbourhoods in Amsterdam South East and New West already have a Wellbeing Dashboard (or will soon).

Residents in Dialogue about Wellbeing
Many residents do not feel seen by the municipality and feel that it often misses the mark. Local officials and other organisations also struggle to take the right actions. A Wellbeing Dashboard shows how residents are doing. To do this, we measure topics that are important to residents. This makes it a tool to measure the economy with the human at its centre, with residents as co-managers.
With these figures in hand, residents can enter into dialogue with the municipality and other organisations. Together, we work on solutions for a better neighbourhood!
More about wellbeing
More about the use
Our strategy:
“We want to show what a neighbourhood needs by measuring what matters…”
“The wellbeing dashboard must be understandable for residents.”
“Making decisions with the residents instead of about the residents.”
“Talking with each other instead of talking past one another.”
We continue…
The project started in the Amsterdam Venserpolder neighbourhood. Now we are expanding it to other neighbourhoods and districts in Amsterdam. The plan is to regularly update the Dashboards afterwards.
